HOW WE ASSISTED
Optima was initially retained by FOAST to draft and issue a media alert promoting the CSI Forensic Science Kid's Camp and also the Safety Bear program. We were later asked to help with social media promotion by creating a Facebook page and designing a poster for schools promoting the camp. We distributed the poster through school districts and connected with media sources to secure coverage of the camp which has been sold out since we began assisting. We also secured several stories in print and a video story on the local NBC affiliate. We recommended a concert poster promotion and they agreed and asked us to design two of them. We recommended FOAST add an informational rack card to its branding and a public service announcement (PSA), as well as a radio ad for the CSI Camp and a solicitation for Alaskans to donate part of their PFD through the Pick-Click-Give Program. FOAST valued the radio ads we wrote and produced which generated additional revenue and public attention. Later we assisted in updating the Safety Bear safety comic book which is distributed to State Troopers to carry in their police vehicles for kids. We secured a donation from Matanuska Electric Association to fund the printing and were asked to animate a new cartoon page on the back of the booklet. We also helped secure donations to fund Safety Bear reflectors and sponsors of the FOAST Alaska State Fair booth. In total, the public and media relations services we provided FOAST have blossomed into revenue, public awareness, modernized branding to further recruit new members, and measured growth of the Museum to the benefit of members and the community.
